Total Solar Eclipse, 2017
We went to Charleston, SC, for the eclipse, not knowing in February (when we booked our travel) that it would likely have cloud cover. We got out of town a bit, to the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site in Mount Pleasant, where we had very dramatic cloud cover (including some well timed thunder and lightning). The lack of clear skies meant we didn't see the corona at all, but we did get a good view of totality through some thin cloud before some heavy cloud cover moved in and obscured the end of totality.

It was amazing.
