Blegh. I don't like any of the new clone wars faces, I'd take a good old 'regular' face any day.

Oldies are better, the new ones look creepy. Especially Mace Windu, he creeps me out. He also looks like The Kingpin from the Daredevil movie.

I'm going to say neither. The ideal Mace Windu figure for me would be with regular minifigure eyes, but regular modern minifigure eyes. The old one doesn't qualify as it lacks the eye sparkle.

Does anyone who's followed LEGO Star Wars closely know why LEGO Star Wars was pretty much the last LEGO theme to add the white eye sparkle to its minifigures? I believe they didn't start adding it to minifigures until last year (2010). Even some themes in the late 90s had an early version of the eye sparkle, and it's been an integral part of most minifigure designs since 2006. Some sets, of course, still use eyes without the eye sparkle, particularly the modular buildings which use no faces other than the classic smiley face.

The new addition of the eye sparkle is one of the things that nearly made me decide to start collecting LEGO Star Wars sets again, as it was a chance to "start fresh" with a new batch of minifigure designs that would be inter-compatible with the designs in other licensed themes. In the end, my wallet convinced me not to, even though each year of new Star Wars sets has at least one set that begs me to reconsider-- most recently, Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers.
