Al Majeediya - جامع المجيديّة

Al-Majidiyya mosque was built in (1187 A.H. - 1773 A.D.). It was named after Sultan Abd El-Majid and was originally a marine fortress and a known tower. It lies on the wooden port section by the sea, but 1840 A.D., the Allied Europian fleets fired its cannons on the fortress. Ever since then, Beirut citizens turned it into Sultan Abd El Majid Mosque in 1257 A.H. - 1841 A.D.)
