e Me and the hassy
That portrait of me was taken by Surrender a local photographer in the Old City with his vintage wooden camera box, it is falling in pieces but it still has a very nice Carl Zeiss lens mounted on it.
The process is quite simple
1. A torn piece of negative photographic paper is loaded inside the box ( 6x9 cm approx. )
2.There is no shutter here , so to expose the paper , he simply removes the lens cap ! (Hardly 1 or 2 second in Rajasthan day light. )
3. He pulls the paper from behind the lens and develops it inside the wooden box with his homemade fluid mixture.
4.Once developed the negative goes into a fixative tray lying around , then goes for another dip in a bucket of fresh water .
5. After this the negative goes back on the other side of the lens ( in front of the camera ) on a wooden mount, so that he can expose another torn piece of paper,
go through the same process again and create a positif print from it !
