Take a View - Landscape Photographer of the Year, is an annual landscape photography competition run in the UK which invites entries showing UK landscapes only.

I don't enter photographic competitions in general, this is one of the very few I do enter, and dare I say it, I would suggest it is possibly seen as one, if not the, premier landscape photography competition in the UK.

I didn't win a prize but I have made it into the book for 2011 as one of the commended entries with this shot.

This is a shot across the frozen surface of Loch Naver, near Altnaharra, Sutherland, Scotland, during the recent very cold weather. Again this is thick frost and not snow that is covering everything. The low sun is coming from the right hand side into this shot and was just catching the top branches of the tree, and part of the far bank of trees.
