A game of shougi - use the Take and Drop tactic to mate in three moves.

Shougi is the japanese version of chess. I'm a beginner at this game, but I find it exciting due to the ability to drop captured pieces back into action - reincarnation if you will.

i've often thought about how games allow us to contemplate the idea of reincarnation - it's interesting, isn't it?.... did you ever come across a game called 'leela'? it was originally devised as a hindu meditation aid, i think - but evolved into snakes & ladders!

anyway - shougi looks very cool, especially in that light!

    Thank you everyone!

LadyV, no, I hadn't heard of it before, but I googled for 'Leela' just now, after filtering the Futurama links, I came across a board painted with snakes and ladders and a die representing your karma - good stuff!

I watched the anime called Shion no Ou and it was pretty good.
