The story of this photo:
This sculpture is standing in La Défense, the business district of Paris. It was a sunny day with nice colors and all the buildings reflected in this sphere. If you look closely, you will be able to see me at the center of the shpere. My girlfreind is standing to the left. This is like making a fisheye shot without owning a fisheye lens. It's like a separate small world.
Take a look at my "HDR Cookbook"! It contains some more information on my techniques.
How it was shot:
> Handheld (as you can see)
> Camera: Nikon D90
> Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200mm 1:3,5-5,6G ED VR
> This is no HDR. The effect was produced using Topaz Adjust in prost-processing
> Details can be found here
How it was post-processed:
> Post-processing was done in Photoshop
> Masked the background
> Topaz Adjust on the scuplture to enhance the colors and the details
> Levels adjustment layer for more contrast on the sculpture
> Saturation adjustment layer to enhance the blues, cyans and orange tones on the sculpture
> Desaturated the background
> Levels adjustment layer to make the background a bit brighter for a better contrast to the foreground
> Noise reduction
> Sharpening using unsharp mask filter
