31 March 2020, Rome - The UN flag was raised today at half mast inside Rome’s FAO headquarters in a sign of solidarity with the initiative of Italy's mayors paying tribute to the victims of the Covid-19 pandemic. At 12.00 hrs today, Italian mayors from all over the country, wearing their tri-colour sash, stood in front of their City Halls and raised the Italian flag at half mast to observe a minute of silence as a sign of mourning and solidarity with local communities dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic that has caused thousands of deaths in Italy.
