The 34th session of the Regional Conference for the Near East (NERC 34) is taking place at headquarters on 7-11 May. High-level officials of 30 member countries from North Africa and the Near East will gather to elaborate challenges and priorities in the region. The conference begins with a senior officers meeting from 7-9 May and is followed by a ministerial plenary session on 10-11 May.

The agenda includes topics such as agroecology and the need to adapt to climate change, agricultural transformation and the challenge of youth employment and migration, as well as the need to address transboundary plant, animal and fish pests and diseases under the header of One Health.
