1-2 December, Rome, Italy - International Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition. Opening ceremony with FAO Director-General and King Letsie III of Lesotho, closing session with Queen Letizia of Spain. The Symposium will explore policies and programme options for shaping the food systems in ways that deliver foods for a healthy diet, focusing on concrete country experiences and challenges.
The high-level event—co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO)—builds on the successful Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) held in November 2014.
The symposium brings together policymakers and parliamentarians, international experts and scientists, chefs and young innovators to examine concrete ways to change food systems so that they respond to current and future nutrition challenges, including climate change, population growth and economic inequalities.
