4th edition of “Tomorrow’s world”, the school debate competition
20 May 2011, Rome - As part of FAO's awareness raising and advocacy activities involving youth, three debates were held in the Plenary Hall on the following topics:
This House would limit meat consumption in order to ensure food security.
This House believes that biofuels represent a threat to food security.
This House believes that biofuels are a threat to forests and therefore increase global warming.
This activity was organizied by FAO in close collaboration with Lycée Chateaubriand de Rome which involved other selected schools in this activity.
On the occasion of this event, around 250 students from 5 high schools participated in the debates and the 1billionhungry project presentation during which signatures were gathered.
