THE PURITY OF A WHITE CACTUS BLOSSOM (A Requiem )
Archival (Never posted)photo of one of my 10 Cereus Cacti plants, (taken in 2010). These cacti all died in a freak killing frost last February. (Photoshop and texture added to this one)...
From one cactus, we called Herman, 9 more babies grew. We gave some to friends and neighbors.
The fellow who posted our "Herman" on his Arizona Cactus Webpage had 500 cereus cacti all outdoors during the frost. (38 hours of 18 degress F in Arizona is rare). He lost ALL of his cacti, save those in the hothouse.
We are hoping to get another one and call it Herman Jr. (^^SEE 2 ORIGINAL PHOTOS BELOW) in the first comment slots. These were taken in 2007 with a Kodak 35mm camera.
This is in honor of ALL the many plants, tress and shrubs (thousands of $ worth thruout the area) that were killed during this nasty weather phenomena.
Hard to believe we ever had those cold temps after spending this last week of 108+ temps and violent T-storms every night.
In Arizona, if you don't like the weather wait an hour, it'll change. Have a blessed, peaceful, happy weekend. Thanks for stopping by. JJ
