Faith's Kitschy and Sparkly Planter
Inspired by the concept of folk art "memory jars", I decided to revamp a fifty cent, 1970s garage sale planter into vibrant, modern day, fun and kitschy yet functional art. :)
The planter is covered with everything from vintage floral and star burst pins to rhinestones, tiny trinkets, buttons, beads, plastic charms, religious pendants, cake toppers, gum machine charms, metal trinkets and broken jewelery. It even has two tiny plastic garden gnomes! The process of designing and creating this piece took close to nine hours since there was so much handwork and so many tiny pieces, but I was happy with how it turned out.
