The Exceptional Design Awards, which have been granted since 1985, recognize achievement in the total design of a building and its site, including:
• Exemplifying a superior work of architecture.
• Incorporating outstanding site design and landscaping.
• Taking into account the context of the project design in relationship to its surroundings.
• Applying energy and water conservation, and other green building practices.
