Make sure to wear a repellent containing DEET when doing yard work, hiking, golfing or enjoying other outdoor activities. Using insect repellent is the most effective way to reduce your exposure to mosquito and tick bites. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that repellents with up to 30% DEET can be used on infants and children greater than 2 months of age.

Repellents containing picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus, or IR3535 may also be used to prevent mosquito bites.

Always read and follow label instructions before applying repellents.
