Negative film views of inverse paintings by Fabrice de Nola.

Vergänglich (1996-1999) is a series of diptychs each composed by a negative oil painting and an inverted photographic reproduction of the painting. The photo show the not been painted positive image.

The project aims to investigate some aspects of the border between photography and painting, in a dialogue between image and picture, information and object.

The works have been shown in several exhibitions, as at the Generous Miracle Gallery, New York (1997); Il Ponte Contemporanea, Rome (1998); the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice (1999); the MLAC, Contemporary Art Museum Lab of the Sapienza University, Rome (2007).
