Self-portrait painting - Negative film view

The inverse self-portrait painting by Fabrice de Nola as is seen on color negative film.

Technically the work is an intersection of photography and painting, in a dialogue between image and picture, information and object. Conceptually this self-portrait refers to the transparent identities portraiture in the digital era.

During the 48th Venice Art Biennale, the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation posted up the picture on billboards in the city of Venice. In 1999 the poster was also exhibited at MACRO Contemporary Art Museum of Rome.
