Goa Photography ! Color or Black and White ?

In a world of color that encompasses this child there is still the bleak grey of anxiety, apprehension and something unsettling.

That is what drew me in to take his portrait in that big noisy throng of people and his other dancemates that surrounded him.

Even in a crowd, most times, we stand alone but to do so, so early in life, that was a bitter lesson.

Since this photograph has not been kept on the bright side,

you must see it large size to get the feel of the mood

The eyes are on fire in B & W, inviting one to stare and stare and have more stares at him. A very fine pointed mood capture!

It is fascinating how you perceive things so differently when using B&W rather than colour- The idea of alienation really stands out for me in this one - a sense of deeper thinking behind those captivating eyes which appears much more fleeting when seen colour ! ..............But the colour photo is also marvelous !

I'm always a big fan of your colour photographs but now I found that I'm a fan of your b&W one too.

Love both of them but the contrast of this is wonderful!
  • kstoon 6y

i like them both for different reasons, but i favor the black and white for it's tempestuous mood. my eyes go straight to his, and i see and feel something, something brewing. very well done and the choice of black and white really works it.

I like this version over the color coz his look has grown more intense without the distraction of color.

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

Wow Anoop!! I have never seen such a moving portrait. By far, the b&w conveys so much more and is my favorite. Positively brilliant work my dear friend!!!!
