2013 Vietnam Health Clinic Mission to Vietnam
EYEsee supplied the August 23 to September 8, 2013 health mission to Vietnam by the Vietnam Health Clinic (VHC) with a donation of 1,450 eyeglasses. VHC is a non-profit, student-led, non-religious, non-government organization at the University of Washington. Each year, a group of 50-70 volunteers comprising of health professionals and graduate and undergraduate students travel to the rural Vietnam to provide health care and medicines for destitute people. Eight clinic days were conducted in the rural areas of Cantho, Soctrang and Travinh—three small towns located along the Mekong area of Vietnam. The volunteers saw more than 2,000 patients. Eye exams were provided for children and adults and 1,700 eyeglasses were dispensed. The team also visited three orphanages and gifted 500 orphans with kid sunglasses.
