Isobel's Nursery

Isobel is due March 27th, but I have a feeling she'll be a few days early.

We worked really hard on her nursery and were able to create a room we loved really inexpensively. The most expensive thing in the room is the crib, and I'm sure if I would have been more patient I could have found a nice one second hand.

We reused a lot of furniture pieces handed down from relatives, shopped yard sales & thrift stores, and reused things around the house. I clumsily made the curtains and we also received lots of wonderful gifts from friends.

The room has a lot of vintage elements in it, partially because we reused things and partially because I'm a thrift addict. I had no theme in mind and only a loose idea of the color palette. I mostly just chose things my husband and I liked.

We had the room painted blue several years ago when we first moved in to this house. I saw no reason to change it. I wish I could be more specific about the color, but I can tell you it's a Benjamin Moore/Pottery Barn color from 2005.

Update: Isobel surprised us all by arriving late on April 4, 2009. She's just about perfect.
