I found this egg-shaped terrarium in a thrift store a long time ago and have been saving it for something special. When I found it someone had bizarrely filled it with fake daisies. It did contain three vintage treats: two miniature swans and one miniature mushroom.

I filled it up especially for the nursery.

inky squid, molly | roots + wings, and 50 other people added this photo to their favorites.

I love the little wooden mushrooms around it. Nice touch!

Hmm, should be studying, but I can't resist! Loves it, loves it. What's the name of the ferny thing?

P.S. Please don't have Peanut while I'm on Spring Break!

      Thank you, all!

Edgar, Oh yes, spider plants can get big. I'll most likely move them once they crowd. I just wanted something to add nice color for the time being.

CA, about a foot, foot and a half tall maybe? I uploaded more pictures that should give you a better sense of scale.

Nancy, that's a maidenhair fern. They are really persnickety and don't appreciate the Valley's hot, dry weather, this but this guy came from a mature plant that has lived here years and years. Regarding Peanut, I make no promises. :)

Cool! I'm looking for something similar so I can build a terrarium for my son's classroom. It's hard to find something attractive and non-breakable. (And, oddly enough, I'm also going to try to grow maidenhair ferns here in the Central Valley.)

CA, you could probably find something that was not intended for a terrarium and use it as such. This is nice because it is acrylic.
