Its a clone, built by a guy called Glen Bator from Oxnard California in the early 1990's, it was part of the Otis Chandler collection until Otis died...when the collection was sold off, this bike went to its current owner in Germany.

The original bike went "missing" shortly after the movie was completed.

I saw the film when it came out ... forty two years ago ...
I still have most of the soundtrack.

You know I am your man in the west, but I will probably be moving to New Orleans if job stuff works out. Watching the road trip across familiar ground to Mardi Gras in a familiar city was an interesting watch. Some of the stuff encountered has not changed much in 42 years. For good and bad.

Now I am confused (easily happens with me...) - I thought you were our man in the mid south?
And your good lady would move with you?

Texas is mostly still considered west. My fathers parents lived in Memphis Tennessee and that part of the world is considered "mid-south." Even thought Texas is not west west, I still used to vacation in New Mexico, Colorado and Utah more than anywhere else, so I have always considered myself more western focused than anywhere else. For about a decade, I spent 4 to 5 weeks a year mostly in New Mexico and some in Colorado. I did live in New Orleans for a year and spent a week or two a year there too, but I have more desert in me than swamp. For now anyway. That will change soon. And as to your last question, yes. :)
