EWEA Public debate (29 April 2014)
We all know power technologies receive public money. But which technologies get how much, and why, has always been difficult to find out. Just how much do we know? What is the real impact of our choice of energy source on the taxpayer’s wallet? What can governments do to reduce such spending, or are we stuck?

In the context of the European Commission’s upcoming study, due in June 2014, EWEA hosted a public debate on subsidies to the power sector with speakers from the OECD, the European Commission and representatives from the renewables and fossil fuel sectors. The panel discussion was followed by questions from the audience.
