Meromyza sp. (Diptera, Chloropidae). I do not know about the pigments of this insect (suppose not chlorophyll), titled it after the latin name of the family or as a wordplay: green (=chloros in Greek) filled.
Long time no studio work since I prefer the field photography in the bug season. I found this small frit fly while looking for live subjects. It was quite active in the hot weather even though it was early evening after sunrise. Collected it hoping to be able shooting it alive in cooler days but after three days it died. So, as the last chance to
eternalize (corrected by Craig Taylor) eternalise it, I warmed up my studio setup. Focus stack of 171 exposures at 11x magnification. Canon EOS 5DII + Mitutoyo BD Plan Apo 10x on a bellows + 2 diffused led lamp.
