ACTA: MEPs want clarity before taking a decision
International Trade Committee MEPs from all political groups want to know more about how the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) would be enforced before advising Parliament as a whole on whether or not to approve it, it emerged from the committee's first debate on it on Thursday. David Martin (S&D, UK), who will draft the committee's recommendation, asked it to back his plan to refer ACTA to the European Court of Justice, for a ruling on questions to be prepared by Parliament.
