March Plenary Session is on
Opening: call to release Sakarov laureate Razan Zaitouneh
President Schulz opened the session by calling on the kidnappers of Syrian human rights lawyer Razan Zaitouneh, her husband and two other peaceful activists for a free Syria, to release them immediately. Ms Zaitouneh, who won the European Parliament’s 2011 Sakharov Prize for freedom of thought, was abducted in Damascus on 9 December 2013. Since then, there has been no news of her, he said.
