MEPs urge support for democracy in Ukraine during the February II plenary, MEP Jacek Olgierd Kurski
The dramatic events in Ukraine that led to over 80 deaths and the removal from power of President Yanukovych changed the country and the EU should step in now to support democracy, MEPs from across the political spectrum said in a plenary debate on the future of the Eastern European country on 26 February. Speakers paid respect to the people of Ukraine for their courage and underlined that they should be able to determine freely the future of their own country.
