Darfurians refugees in Eastern Chad

Chad / Darfurian refugees from Sudan / Treguine camp (18 746 refugees, UNHCR figures, 30 september 2011), 23 kilometers south from Farchana UNHCR sub-office located 120 km east from Abeche, located 900 kilometer east from N'Djamena the chadian capital. The camp is located 72 km from the sudanese border, and was opened in september 2004. In a Treguine Health Center courtyard, run by IRC (International Rescue Committee) an ngo partner with UNHCR, a mid-wife is talking with a pregnant refugee to gather information before a consultation. Next to them, UNHCR doctor, Dr. Doumbia Valy, in charge of health issues in the medical centers throughout Farchana sub-office (Treguine, Bredjing,Farchana and Gaga) listens to them. / UNHCR / F.
