Syrian refugees’ laundry hangs in the snow outside a tent near Zahle, days after the storm had ended. Heavy snow, strong winds and lashing rain continued for days before weather conditions started to ease at lower altitudes. Snow continues however to cover Lebanon’s mountainous areas, making living conditions difficult for refugees living in tents at higher elevations.

Thanks to the support of ECHO and other donors, up to 660,000 vulnerable refugees are receiving UNHCR’s winter assistance.
