Western Sahara: Bringing fresh food to the desert
For fresh produce to reach the refugee camps in the south of the country from northern Algeria, the food has to travel almost two thousand kilometres by road.. Until last year, tens of thousands of food rations had to be distributed as soon as they arrived in the camps – a challenging task and a race against time to prevent food spoilage in the heat of the desert.
