That moment [Explored]

Until 06:18 GMT (08:18 local time) on 26 October 2013, the latest paroxysm at Etna's New Southeast Crater went on like so many similar events before. Then, something new happened. A menacingly dark column of ash shot out of the Northeast Crater, which had been happily rumbling for years without ever throwing out any ash or rock fragments. All of a sudden, the 39th paroxysm at the New Southeast Crater since January 2011 had become unique.
