One of the things I loved about Podcamp was the balance between organization and flexibility...just enough of the former to keep things comfortable, and enough of the latter to give us all a sense of freedom and responsibility. That's what I liked about these signs. Nicely printed with the great logo in cheerful orange, and those clear big arrows to guide people around, hung in all the right places with messy ripped-off strips of blue tape that was not too pretty but did the job just fine. I like this one with the UP arrow, because this was the most upbeat conference/unconference that I have been to in a long time.
Several things went "wrong" at Podcamp -- session leaders who failed to show up or who forgot what they were supposed to do. In all cases that I saw, these quickly turned into opportunities for someone else to step in or step up, or for the group to quickly make a new plan. Maybe one of the better lessons of Podcamp -- never mind what you planned, what are you going to do now?
