Sarai Dashboard, revisited

    Newer Older

This dashboard runs full-screen at 1280x1024 on a 19" monitor connected to my iMac, being served by the Sarai hub sitting over by my television. Incoming information from RSS feeds or Breaking News are automatically sent to my main iMac display as Growl notifications thanks to Fluid's Growl. It's a single-serving site in a single-serving browser, almost completely done in JS (my analogue clocks are done in Flash simply for the sake of fluidity — the canvas element redraw is still a little slow.)

Note: This is a mockup, but the code is almost done and operational.

Also note: I originally went white-on-black for a power consumption reason, but according to Titanas (in the comments below) this is a myth. Thanks for clearing that up. I probably would have done something far less modernist.

Great job.. if only it was themed :)
As for power consumption, the black background is a myth. Have a look here googleblog.blogspot.com/2007/08/is-black-new-green.html

Well ain't that news. Thanks for correcting me. Let's see if Flickr allows strikethrough.

      Also, themed? I don't follow.

I'd like to see this being themed.. different colored options, skins.

I like it. I should get you to design our WBR dashboards :) an the baby poop chart. I will leave it up to you which is more glamorous.

Feels kinda Vignelli-like, doesn't it? Also, the baby poop chart. Definitely.

Looks great. I like how well the grid layout works in this.
