day 187: over-excited

    Newer Older

my head is full of stuff:

just back from looking round St. Thomas' Hospital: there's a job going there. All seems fab, only problem is that the interview includes a presentation and I've not done that before....

It's tough deciding whether to go for a new job or stay put where it's safe and known, so I'm slightly tearing my hair out, as you can see. I'm also over-excited as I'm going on an unexpected holiday :)

Go for it - if you do, and fail, it wasn't meant to be. If you don't, you'll always wonder... (and it's good practice to go for interviews now and then - you can always turn any offers down, and it keeps your hand in for that perfect job when it comes along).

      Fantastic shot.

Where are my cheerleader pompoms? ;)

Oh yeah - and have a nice holiday - lucky you!

You probably know the answer yourself: You should go for the interview. You'll be fine with the presentation, I'm sure.

Always go for the interview! As Steve said, it's good practice, good perspective, and presentations sound harder than they are. What's it supposed to be on? I suggest your work environment.

      Ta guys.

The problem with the talk thing is that this job is the same grade as I'm in now, but at the Homerton I've not had much chance to upgrade my skills/ knowledge (one of the reasons I want to move on) so I may struggle with a presentation if it's on new developments, and if I fail there will be some people here who won't let me forget it...

Still think you should have a go - sounds like a very good reason to want to move on - you won't know if you don't try.
      Have a great holiday. S
