This is the Leie river which runs through the city of Gent seen from the Grasbrug (bridge) just after sunset.
If you would turn around, you would see the St-Michielskerk.
Standard 3 exposures HDR on a tripod using the Sigma 10-20mm lens.
A little crop with perspective to correct the perspective distortion
of the Sigma 10-20mm lens for object that are close by.
Added a little 'Curves' and masked it away on everything but the river.
Added a little saturation.
Decreased the saturation and lightness and masked that away on everything but the river, because the river looked unnaturally blue.
There was a bit too much noise in the dark part of the river so I applied a gaussian blur and brushed that away -using the history brush- everywhere except on the dark patch in the river.
Added brightness, inverted the mask (ctrl-i) and painted it back in, in the cloud parts using several steps of opacity of the brush.
Sharpened the image a bit using the unsharp mask to make the buildings pop.
There were a few artifacts around the light reflections in the water, blurred those away with the blur tool.
