TEDxWestVancouverED
I was truly fortunate to be able to attend this event in West Vancouver. The speakers captivated, motivated, inspired. I was unable to connect to the wifi, which meant that instead of tweeting during the day, I was forced to default to my visual notes. In the end, this was a blessing in disguise. Call them doodles, drawings, sketches, notes - whatever you decide - to me they are a visual representation of my learning for the day. I changed media a few times, and I did have difficulty staying focused at one point in the day (obvious, I think, when you actually look at and compare notes from speaker to speaker) but overall I'm really pleased with how this arts-based approach helped me stay on task and focus my learning throughout the day. It was also interesting how many commented on what I was doing - art has a way of catching people's attention.
