The species epithet is from the appearance of the flower to a monkey.

 

This is a particularly light clone - most clones are several shades darker.

    Definitiely, they look lilke monkeys. It amazes me how orchids can take on different looks. I have a few photos that look like something other than the orchid I shot! This is a great job!
