Keisuke-san, rakugo player
I really met Keisuke-san by accident! I was walking on Robson Street with Mikhail and Tom at the end of a photowalk and saw the sign for his rakugo show. I've been wanting to see a live rakugo performance ever since I discovered the art of traditional Japanese comic story telling on the TV drama, "Tiger & Dragon". So of course I stopped! I never imagined that I could watch rakugo in Vancouver or in English! (You can also watch a video to get an idea of what rakugo is about.)
I enjoyed Keisuke-san's English-language rakugo performance so much that I returned the next Saturday with Mari, Darren and Shiho to watch him a second time. This time Keisuke-san told a special story about couples, just for me and Mari. Arigatou gozaimasu, Keisuke-san!
Keisuke-san will perform rakugo in English one more time this coming Saturday (before he returns to Tokyo) and I'm planning to be there again.
