A photo of my dog. Yes, we named him 42. This was taken at Springbrook Forest Preserve's dog park with my Canon 30D and was one of the first photos I took with my new Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens.
He was watching some other dogs play -we had been there an hour or so and he was tired, and therefore more likely to be still while I took a shot. I used a large aperture to blur the background and caught him while the sun lit up his eye, but being careful that there weren't any harsh shadows that'd be distracting (there's just a little bit of one on his tongue).
