On the Mont des Arts
The Mont des Arts & its Harmonious Garden
Landscaping is both Art and Science!
Look at this classic and extravagant Persian Carpet with its elegant border motifs and its Venetian red and green geometric designs that look like intriguing calligraphy !
The Mont des Arts or Kunstberg, meaning Hill or Mount of the Arts,is an urban complex and historic site in the centre of Brussels.
Standing atop the slope overlooking the green splendour, you find one of the most brilliant and most photographed views in the whole city of Brussels.
Click on the image to enlarge,go sightseeing around the beautifully landscaped public garden, and put your own spin on the carpet. There's so much to see in this historical site just in a 300 metre radius, such as :
The Royal & National Library of Belgium ( KBR ) on the left, the Palace of the Dynasty with a glimpse of the Jacquemart and his Tenor bell ( the Jacquemart carillon ) on the right, and in the distance the statue of King Albert I, and the Brabantine Gothic 315 ft tower of the Town Hall with its Spire almost touching 'The Cloud Factory ' ...
PS : Well, more fashionably late than ever, but the Automaton Clock on the facade of the Palace of the Dynasty strikes ... Time to start visiting all my Flickr friends again, after having posted a Plethora of images in chronological order. Hope you're all keeping well ♥
