MENJ Advocacy Training
The Maine Episcopal Network for Justice held its first faith-based advocacy training workshop on March 12 at St. Luke's Cathedral in Portland. About 50 people from 13 congregations learned about the relationship between religion and democracy, how to advocate for social justice at the Maine State House as well as two ballot initiatives - background checks for private gun sales and the minimum wage campaign - that will be on the November 2016 ballot.
