The Bennett Building

    Newer Older

The Bennett Building (Arthur D. Gilman, 1872-73; additions, James M. Farnsworth, 1890-92) is not only a pioneering proto-skyscraper but one of the prettiest cast-iron buildings in New York City.

I say a little more about the Bennett Building on my New York City landmarks blog, The Masterpiece Next Door.

I really like how you framed this shot capturing the glint of sunshine on the lower portion of this incredibly detailed landmark.

In the 1980s this building was painted with pastel pink and blue colors. I have a photo from 1989 I need to scan and post.
