Eden 2007_S12223

The worlds largest and smelliest flower - the Titan arum (proper name Amorphophallus titanium), also known as the corpse flower, in flower at the Eden Project on Sunday November 11, 2007. The Titan arum only blooms for 48 hours before it’s central spike starts to decompose. It originates from the tropical rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia, where its putrid stench has led to its other name, the corpse flower.
