Question Mark Block Ottoman & Raccoon Mario Rug

7x7ft 8-bit Raccoon Mario rug!

This was Andrew's birthday present that I finished on July 3rd.

Each pixel is represented by one 3.5in crochet "Granny Square" (typically used for blankets/throws). There are 386 pixels that make up Raccoon Mario.

The same day I watched a youtube tutorial for the squares, I went and bought tons of yarn and got started on this massive project. Initially, each square took about 12 minutes to the middle to end of the project, it would take about 5 minutes each.

An Excel spreadsheet was made that detailed the number of squares needed for each color, and formulas were added so that I could keep track of my progress.

I figured this would take well over 1 month to finish if I were persistent.......but nope!

DONE IN 15 DAYS! (13 to complete all pixel Granny Squares, 2 to sew all of them together)

I would bring yarn and make Granny Squares at work during my lunch break, then go home and make more. So I'm estimating this took approximately 120hrs to complete.

Here he is next to my Question Mark Block Ottoman, which is a 15x15" cube constructed out of semi-glossy vinyl fabric that I cut & sewed over the period of 3 days. : )

These will be featured in Nintendo Power in a few months!
