Occupy Wall St. Protest in Zucotti Park October 4, 2011

I had a chance to head down to the Financial District in Manhattan to meet up with one of my buddies, and check out what was happening at Zucotti Park. The Occupy Wall St. protests are impressive. I agree with their thinking 100%. The small, wealthy minority in the United States exercise undue influence on the political world. This is pure insanity.

The way the protest itself is setup is fantastic. They have a Rainbow Family sty;le kitchen to feed people. They hae recycling and composting. A teched out media center with generators, computers and wi-fi to keep everyone blogging and tweeting. Their is a huge library with free political material to read. I even spotted the "Nick At Nite" free cigarette crew from the Rainbow Gatherings (pointed out by my buddy Jon K.). Overall, it's a lot of smart people, making their voices heard for an urgent and worthwhile cause.

If you are in Manhattan, make a point to go down there and lend your support.
