Snow fall

Took a nice long walk to enjoy the snow tonight. I'm sure I'll love it less tomorrow morning when I have to drive through it to get to work, but for now I can pretend I'm ten again and have no responsibilities: only the hope of a snow day tomorrow, followed by sledding and hot chocolate.

Isn't that funny? I'm up, listening to the radio, and waiting for the newscaster to say I don't have to go to work today.

Yeah, I got all excited when I heard that Madison schools were closed today, but then my sleepy head remembered that that didn't mean anything for me. :P My place of employment is still open, galldurnit!

Nice capture...I lived at Center and Hudson until a year and a half ago. I like Circle Park.

Nice shot. And congrats on it being the Madison Snap today.

I too kept rolling my eyes when I heard the newscasters and State Patrol suggesting that "unless you absolutely have to go our, stay home." You mean like going to work, for example? I think I sprained an eye. Fortunately, not the one I use with the camera!

Nataraj - Thanks! And yeah, I understand why they say things like that, and it may make sense for some folks, but really--a lot of us can't afford to just not go into work, dangerous as it may be some times. It'd be nice if more businesses closed when conditions got bad, but then we are trying to stave off economic disaster, so I also understand why that's not always the case. No easy thing.

My husband's work used to close when Madison schools closed but not anymore. He stayed home anyway but I guess he had to take a vacation day to do it (even though nobody else showed up either!)
