Mount Kazbek ("glacier" in Georgian) is one of the highest peaks in the Caucasus. It is between Georgia and North Ossetia (Russia). Its height is 5047 meters. According to the legend Prometheus (in Georgian "Amirani") was chained here by the Gods for stealing fire from them and providing it to the humans. The site where Prometheus was chained is nowadays a sacred cave called Betlemi (Bethlehem), located at around 4000 meters altitude.
