Life on Dawson Street Mural

South side of 911 Longwood Avenue, Longwood, Bronx, New York City, New York, United States

The figures depict Thomas, Barbara, Pedro, Pat and Leha – people who lived in the Longwood neighborhood in the early 1980s. Created by sculptors John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres in 1982-83.

The owner of 911 Longwood Avenue invited Ahearn and Torres to cast the sculptures. As of 2009, three of the five people in the sculpture still live in in the neighborhood.
