spaghetti con calamari
Saturday's dinner and the new dish for last week. This was the runner-up choice for the previous weekend, also from Jamie's Italy by Jamie Oliver. It was essentially pasta with white wine, fennel, squid, red pepper, garlic, and lemon zest. We used mini linguine instead of spaghetti, since I'm not a huge fan of spaghetti for some reason. (Too cliche, maybe.) I also squeezed some of the juice from the lemon on my portion. Steve didn't think it needed any, but I like the extra tang.
In any case, this was a lovely light pasta dish. Since it was easy and fast, it's a good one to add to our weeknight dinner repertoire.
Steve has finally posted his entry about our Easter dinner from a couple weeks ago. (We spent a while last night editing it.) You can read it here if you so desire. Hopefully, it won't take him another two weeks to catch up to writing the post for this dish...
