Having it both ways Project 365(2) Day 297
When we came to Spain we were advised to sell all the electrical goods we had and buy new. That would have been stupid because It is easier and cheaper to either change the plug or use an adapter.
To power my computer set up where some of the plugs have built in transformers, I have a four way and a six way strip with English sockets.
For other low power devices, we have a few English to Spanish adapters and I have changed the plugs on others.
Now though, we have the problem in reverse. When we travel to the UK, there are a few things with Spanish plugs that we need with us. So, I had to hunt out a Spanish to English adapter which are actually not that easy to come by.
The one in the picture, which I picked up at Alicante airport takes the whole range of flat and round pin plugs and converts them to the English flat pin plug.
For my netbook and my digital camera battery chargers, I have two leads; one with a Spanish plug and one with an English plug. I just have to remember to take the right one.
Wouldn't life be simpler if we all used the same type of plug? That is not going to happen though is it?
